Issue 121

We are building features for the Women Who Code community and we want to highlight that work with our stakeholders, you! THANK YOU to our contributors for dedicating their valuable time to help us build tech a place where women can excel.

You can follow all of our work on github. Below are a few snippets of our awesome features.

Released

Upgraded Bugsnag and Implemented New Syntax
We changed the hash syntax into block syntax and then upgraded Bugsnag to provide better transaction clarity and security with customer orders.

Network Events Mobile Fix
There was an overflow issue with Network Events on mobile, so we reworked the site's CSS to use flex instead of floats while maintaining the same look as before across multiple breakpoints.

For Companies Page: New Layout and Copy
We updated the copy on the For Companies page, and made some design updates like removing the background image in the pricing table, implementing uniform "white card" areas and link styles, and updated the title "Visibility Boost" to "Social Boost."

Increased Blog Snippet Word Count
The number of words in the summary snippet of blogs, shown on the blog directory page, has been increased to 15.

Fixed Enabling Announcements
We changed the checkbox on the Announcement index page to a status tag and enabled the checkbox in edit view. We also put a placeholder in the Network drop-down to show that announcements are possible.

Implemented a New Stripe Credit Card Form
The new form replaces Strip Checkout API with Strip API that includes Elements. It also has the Stripe logo and links to our TOS and Privacy Policy. In addition, there are now improved parameters for handling card errors.

Added a Sitemap
We added a sitemaps controller and corresponding view at views/sitemaps/index.xml.builder that renders /sitemap.xml. We then added a rake task to periodically update the sitemap, which can be implemented daily from Heroku.
