Maker Bytes

Issue 104

We are building features for the Women Who Code community and we want to highlight that work with our stakeholders, you! THANK YOU to our contributors for dedicating their valuable time to help us build tech a place where women can excel.

You can follow all of our work on github. Below are a few snippets of our awesome features.

Released

During this week's sprint, we started implementing a new login strategy for development, improved the Network Events feature, continued our update to Network Leader accounts and improved the efficiency of the site footer.

We worked on a new ENV variable for deployment, 'USE_DEV_AUTH' which allows us to set a user in the local Redis cache and skip going to Zuul entirely, eliminating the need for local development to talk to the Zuul sandbox.

We also updated the Network Events to have an end time on the administrative dashboard, and set it so that times are displayed in a From – To format on the show page.

We removed the footer MailChimp sign up form link from Network pages, as we are no longer encouraging members to sign up through MailChimp but rather through the website itself.

And, we added a soft delete option for Network Leaders that deleted their role, without deleting the profile or the Network that they were a Leader for. We also further delineated Network Leaders from Network Members accounts.
