Maker Bytes

Issue 27

We are building pretty amazing features and we want to highlight that work with our stakeholders, you! THANK YOU to our contributors for dedicating some of their free time to making tech a place where women can excel.

You can follow all of our work on github. Below are a few snippets of our awesome features.

This Week

We want to use this space to highlight our fantastic contributors. Without their ongoing dedication and help these projects would not be a success.

This week we would like to give a big shout out to Kaitlyn Hova.

Kaitlyn Hova is a Software Engineer, Designer, Violinist, Neuroscientist, and our core team’s new Senior UX developer. She is co founder of HOVA LLC, whose projects include The Synesthesia Network, Waldo, and The Hovalin an open source, 3D printable violin for all. When not working, she gives TEDMED talks and takes viral photos of her cat!

Our Website

Our repo is private, yet running under an open source license. Instead of pointing to issues and PRs, we are going to include a screenshot of what our weekly pulse looks like.

Existing website contributors, please check out our pulse!

Potential website contributors, please email core-team@womenwhocode.com with your github username to get started. It's built in Ruby on Rails.

Released

This week's sprint focused on clean up of some pages on Active Admin including role based access to users, Job Board updates and tweaks including sending out reminders to users to finish posting a job when they start but don't complete the process, new and simplified cards on the Network page and a new Global Events page.
