Issue 1
We are building pretty amazing features and we want to highlight that work with our stakeholders, you! We have some amazing people working tirelessly to make our apps better. We want to say a huge THANK YOU to them.
You can follow all of our work on github. Below are a few snippets of our awesome features.
This Week
This week much of our dev work went into our website and our android app.
Our Website
Released
Soft launch of the new Resource section. This new section will provide an easy way to direct members/prospective members/curious site visitors to the source materials WWC groups are using to help teach/guide people as they explore different programming languages and design patterns. The inception of this feature came from our resources and guidelines repo. There was a general desire among members and leadership to create an interface that makes the resources quickly searchable, with a friendly UI. nupurkapoor, pamtaro, antislice and a few more huddled together to build a better experience. This feature will be officially launched after we make it possible for any user to recommend new resources.
In The Works
- Abstracting out a UI for an ‘announcements’ feature. This way non coders can put announcements on our site through our admin panel quickly!
- Our own job board! Pretty soon, we are going to be able to view companies who are hiring, see what benefits they offer and compare. See our mocks!

Collaborations
We are taking on an exciting project with ACHAW, a fantastic organization that builds high-quality websites, web apps, and custom software for nonprofits and startups with a cause – for free. We would like to thank Ryan McMahon (Project Manager) & Jay Wengrow (CEO) for kickstarting this exciting project with us. We’ll announce the students working on this project within a few weeks!
