Press Releases

Women Who Code invites you to view our 2022 Annual Report, which highlights our mission’s reach, growth, and impact through last year. The Annual Report captures everything we’ve accomplished together — Team Teal, members, volunteers, donors, and Partners — to share and celebrate the critical and wide-reaching impact we’ve had on the careers and lives of diverse technologists. This Annual Report is for you.

Together, we’ve been at the forefront of global change, connecting underserved technologists through educational programming, free technical and career-navigation events, barrier-breaking opportunities, and community. We are transforming the technology industry into a more inclusive, diverse, and equitable space, driving innovation for a better world.

We’ve highlighted below some of the incredible moments you have made possible, and we invite you to read the report in full here.

In 2022, WWCode hosted 1,900 free educational events that served 36,000 attendees, and staged major developer conferences that drew in 4,000 participants.

Free educational programming supports our vision for a world where diverse technologists have equal access and representation at every level. Our work imagines possibilities beyond the scope of any one person to benefit all of society. As we labor to improve the experience of diverse women and non-binary technologists, we know each journey is different. Through virtual, asynchronous, in-person and hybrid events, we create an inclusive community that meets the needs of our unique members in a space where they are acknowledged, seen, welcomed, and supported regardless of age, religion, ethnicity, culture, abilities, or identity.

As part of our commitment to creating access to additional training and resources, including scholarships and conference tickets, Women Who Code awarded $490,900 in educational scholarships and $170,000 in conference event tickets as part of our ongoing commitment to empowering diverse technologists.

Women Who Code social media accounts had 9 million impressions in 2022, with 245,000 video views for our on-demand content, 150,000 podcast episode downloads, and an audience of 130,000 newsletter subscribers.

Using our communications channels, we share stories of our members’ journeys in tech, celebrate and applaud their successes, and elevate their professional profiles to diversify the face of tech.

We’re equally committed to raising awareness and speaking out against the bias and injustice that diverse women face in their careers and lives every day. When technologists feel safe in their work environment, they can focus their energy and attention on developing their skills and excelling in their careers. The 2022 Annual Report contains information on our monthly advocacy campaigns around various topics, including the following.

Women Who Code released our first annual report last year as a special ten-year edition celebrating our accomplishments from our early days through 2021. Continuing to make this information public with the 2022 report is part of WWCode’s commitment to transparency. It shares our story with stakeholders across the organization, from members and volunteers to partner companies, sponsors, and the industry.
Thank you for being a part of the growing catalytic movement for good that is Women Who Code. Your support and participation are the core of all of our activities, and we are grateful to you for allowing us to continue our work to empower even more diverse women to excel in technology careers.
