International Women in Tech Nonprofit to Host Premiere Industry Event Bringing Together Leaders and Innovators From Around the World

SAN FRANCISCO – March 22nd, 2019 —Women Who Code (WWCode), the world’s largest and most active community of women engineers, is proud to announce the WWCode CONNECT 2019 technology conference. This premier event will feature some of the top names in the industry holding in-depth panels, technical workshops, and keynotes designed to teach, inspire and provide actionable advice to help attendees excel in their tech careers.

WWCode CONNECT 2019 is taking place on April 13th at the offices of Pinterest in San Francisco, California, with talks spanning the block to the nearby Cisco Umbrella office. Tech professionals, industry innovators, and WWCode leaders will fly in from around the world to attend, and some of the talented technologists and leaders in the field have already been confirmed as speakers. This includes Andrea Gallego, CTO at BCG GAMMA, Tara Hernandez, Engineering Manager at Google, Angie Brown, Vice President of Technology at The Home Depot, Candice Morgan, Head of Inclusion & Diversity at Pinterest, and many more.

The WWCode CONNECT Conference will feature Keynote Speakers, panel discussions, and deep dive workshops on a variety of technical topics, as well as an awards ceremony celebrating some of the most accomplished women in tech of the year. In addition, there will be a partner expo where attendees can connect with companies that support WWCode, and this is the first year that WWCode is allowing members to upload their resumes ahead of time. 

A number of organizations that are helping build a more diverse and inclusive tech industry have signed on to support the conference. This includes Pinterest, The Home Depot, PayPal Inc., Atlassian, Boston Consulting Group, VMware, Capital One, Zume Inc., LinkedIn, Cisco, Auth0, Netflix, Nike, E-Trade, DoorDash, SoundCloud, Oracle, Collective Health, Walmart Labs, Mercari, Tibco Software, Inc., ThoughtWorks, J.P. Morgan, Tala, Lyft and Google.

This is the fourth year that WWCode CONNECT is being held. This event is also part of a larger conference series taking place throughout 2019 with WWCode CONNECT India taking place at the offices of VMware in Bangalore on March 29th, and WWCode CONNECT Asia, which is being held in Singapore on August 31st.
