An exemplary woman, Rashmi Gupta is honest, passionate and determined in whatever she does. She believes in staying relevant to the industry by keeping abreast of the changing landscape. She loves to write poems, meditates and reads regularly to keep herself updated with the technological developments.

On being asked about the highlights of her professional journey, she shared, “In a span of 23 years, there have been multiple challenging and fulfilling assignments which helped shape my career. From my first experience in the UK to take knowledge transfer from someone, who knew I would replace him, to driving major ERP implementation for one of the US customers, to setting up the NextGen Competency and leading the Agile/DevOps implementations. The list is endless. It has been an enriching journey.”

Rashmi has worked on multiple domains, driving large and complex Enterprise-wide programs. At present, she heads the engagement for Infogain, a large US-based Insurance Product Engineering Company and taking care of the Global Portfolio & Delivery Management with P&L responsibilities.

On being asked about the challenges she faced in her profession as a woman, she said, “Career choices and challenges are faced by both men and women. Working women have a different set owing to the biological gift and responsibility bestowed by God on them to keep the society growing. Personally, I had the toughest time after the birth of my younger daughter. But I am blessed to have an understanding family and bosses with whose support I could sail through. “

When asked about her advice to women in tech, she said, “Women should support other women joining the workforce. Especially, the women in thirties, who need the most support as that’s when most dropouts happen. Sharing experiences and showing the path will also help to mentor and encourage other women.”

She added, “Sometimes, women trying to climb the leadership ladder have to prove themselves twice as much to gain the trust and confidence that they can cope with the stress and the challenging requirements of the role. In such situations, keep going, don’t stop.”

She also advised, “Never compromise your integrity and commitments. Deliver what you commit to and learn to say ‘no’ if it is not achievable.”
