How to benefit most from the Google Conference

I am an entrepreneur without a technological background and I was interested in attending Google Conference because I would like to learn about the latest compliances and regulations related to health care and best practices in the field. More importantly, I wanted to learn more about cloud technology, machine learning and their use cases.

Thank you to Women Who Code. They generously offered me a free ticket to attend the Google Cloud Next ’19. The experience in Google Cloud Next ’19 was amazing because I gathered a lot of useful information in the field, learned how to write simple code and met with like-minded entrepreneurs. I have a few tips that may help you benefit more from this conference.

  1. Identify your learning goals in this conference. Google Cloud Next is a three-day conference which covers hundreds of breakouts, workshops, keynotes, demonstrations and boot camps. You cannot attend all the sessions; therefore, you should list out the key learning goals that you want to achieve before signing up any sessions.

  1. Reserve the sessions that you are interested once you have the ticket. Google requires attendees to RSVP for bootcamp, workshops and breakout sessions. Some sessions fill out fast. If you want to reserve a spot, you need to RSVP through the conference website or its app. If you cannot reserve a spot, you still can wait in the waiting list line.

  1. If you are an entrepreneur or a business professional without any technological background or experience related to cloud computing, attending workshops in the DevZone would be a good learning experience. In DevZone, you may try hands-on demos and labs. You will learn the ML/Cloud technology in the field.

  1. For programmers, attending Hands-on Labs would be a good choice for you to learn new skills and knowledge at your own pace. If you cannot finish the whole online courses during the conference, you may complete them when you have time.

All in all, the experience at the Google Cloud Next Conference was awesome. The seasoned speakers and demonstrators covered different topics, including application development, collaboration and productivity, data analytics, IoT, ML, AI, and security. Even I am not an engineer, I am still amazed by the technologies developed by Google.
