Celebrating the Completion of an Impactful Journey

The “From Earth to Cloud – AWS for Developers” course, an initiative by Women Who Code (WWCode) Medellín, has recently concluded, marking a significant milestone in empowering women in technology. WWCode Medellín set out to empower women in cloud computing, focusing specifically on AWS, to build their developer skills. Out of 450 registrants, 30 participants were selected to complete the course. With the support and collaboration of ABATECH, they delivered an impactful experience for participants and teachers. 

ABATECH’s offices in Medellín served as the learning hub where these passionate learners gathered every Saturday from August 5th to October 7th for ten in-person classes and eight lab sessions for a total of 40 hours. The course was designed to offer more than just theoretical knowledge. Participants dived into hands-on practice, exploring over 25 AWS services. This practical approach ensured that each participant understood and applied the concepts, gaining a real-world perspective of cloud technologies.

A noteworthy aspect of this course was the involvement of 10 volunteer teachers. These dedicated professionals, equipped with the necessary training and expertise, delivered high-quality education. Their enthusiasm and commitment to sharing knowledge were pivotal to the program’s success. While the primary focus was developing technical skills in AWS, the course offered much more. It provided a solid experience in using cloud technologies, preparing the students for the challenges and demands of the tech industry. This program was not just about learning but also about personal and professional growth.
