CONNECT LATAM – English

A few years ago, I attended my first Leadership Summit and CONNECT conference. It was a wonderful experience where I connected and met women leaders from networks around the world. Among those women were those who led Spanish-speaking networks. Seeing the event's magnitude, we wanted to have one of those events within the networks in Mexico. Three years ago, a Leadership Summit was held where we brought together the Mexican networks. It was the first event of its kind where, despite being in English, translators were used to being able to communicate everything that was being presented in the native language, which is Spanish.
A few months ago, it was announced that for the first time, Women Who Code would hold CONNECT LATAM, an event that will be held in Spanish (it is worth mentioning that it is also the first in Spanish) by the global organization. CONNECT LATAM is a series of talks in different formats on technology topics for women. The networks are excited to experience this great event to attract more Latin American women interested in learning, achieving their professional goals, and improving their skills. Currently, within Women Who Code, there are 10 networks in Latin America. Yes! 10 networks, and we hope that they continue to increase.
Since the call came out, I didn't hesitate to sign up as a volunteer because it's been so long since we discussed this idea that it is now a reality. It is always a pleasure for me to contribute to the organization because it is a place where you can connect with more women in the area, learn from others, and above all, have a feeling of belonging to a community. I do not doubt that in a few years, we can be doing this event in person in Mexico City, Monterrey, Mérida, Buenos Aires, Medellín, or Santiago.
The event will take place on October 13, starting at 5 pm (GMT-5) virtually. Within the conferences, we can find topics on communities, leadership, project management, career development, and technical workshops.
