Women Who Code is continuously monitoring news about COVID-19 and are moved by stories from how our community has come together during this difficult time. Network leaders are collaborating on digital events and people are finding ways to support each other and stay healthy. With our community’s safety in mind, we feel that it is our responsibility to take the difficult decision to postpone CONNECT SF 2020. We are grateful to our partners and leaders who have been incredibly supportive during this time.

Q: What is the status of WWCode CONNECT events for 2020?
A: WWCode has postponed CONNECT SF to October 31. WWCode has postponed CONNECT India and will be assessing new dates mid-April. We are closely monitoring the situation and posting updates here.
Q: What is the new date for CONNECT SF?
A: The new date is October 31.
Q: Is there an online option planned for CONNECT 2020?
A: YES! In addition to the in-person conference in October, we will be launching CONNECT Digital as a way to come together through an online conference. Sign up here to receive updates and announcements.
Q: Does WWCode offer other online programming?
A: Yes! In addition to CONNECT, you can attend a digital event hosted by a WWCode network. Check out upcoming opportunities here.
Q: What is the date for CONNECT Digital?
A: The team is working to confirm a date for CONNECT Digital. Be sure to sign up for updates here.
Q: Is anything about CONNECT SF 2020 changing with the new date?
A: It’s just going to get better! CONNECT SF 2020 is still set to be our largest developer conference yet! We’re thrilled to be bringing together our community to experience expert technical talks, panels, and workshops, and make important connections that build a sense of belonging for engineers navigating their career. We’re working hard to ensure that our members, leaders, volunteers, speakers, and partners are able to join for the new date and look forward to seeing everyone there.
FOR TICKET HOLDERS
Q: What if I’ve already bought a ticket to CONNECT?
A: All ticket holders will receive an automatic ticket for the rescheduled date. Alternatively, ticket holders can convert their ticket to a scholarship donation or request a refund through Eventbrite.
Q: What if I’ve already booked travel?
A: Airlines, hotels, and other travel providers currently have flexible return policies. We recommend that you reach out to the company that you booked through as soon as possible to initiate your reimbursement, travel credit, or otherwise inquire about cancellations policies.
Q: What happens with the resume database?
A: If you have submitted your resume to the resume database, your profile will still be shared with partners who support our organization. We’ll be making space at CONNECT Digital and CONNECT SF for you to chat with companies about your next career opportunity.
FOR SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
Q: What if I received a scholarship ticket for CONNECT SF?
A: All scholarships will be honored for the new date. If you haven’t already registered, be sure to use your scholarship code to secure your spot before tickets sell out.
FOR WWCODE LEADERS
Q: Will my leader conference ticket be honored for the new CONNECT SF date?
A: All leader tickets will be honored for the new date. If you haven’t already registered, be sure to use your exclusive scholarship code (found in the Director Slack and Update emails) to secure your spot before tickets sell out: women.dev
Q: Will my travel award be honored for the new CONNECT SF date?
A: YES!
Q: What if I’m a leader who applied for a travel scholarship and booked my travel before the March 3 hold notification?
A: Airlines, hotels, and other travel providers currently have flexible return policies. We recommend that you reach out to the company that you booked through as soon as possible to initiate your reimbursement, future travel credit, or otherwise inquire about cancellations policies. If you are not successful in securing a refund, reach out to global@womenwhocode.com for support so that we can honor your travel award.
Q: If I am a WWCode leader who has been awarded a travel scholarship, will WWCode reimburse my costs already paid for a visa?
A: Yes. If you will need to acquire a visa to enter the US for the October 31st event, WWCode will reimburse Directors for visa fees.
Q: Will WWCode still hold a Director Leadership @ CONNECT SF?
A: Yes! The new date is Friday October 30.
FOR CONNECT SPEAKERS
Q: What if I have been confirmed to speak at CONNECT SF?
A: All speakers are being invited to give their talks on the rescheduled date.
Q: I submitted a CFP, what happens next?
A: Now that we’ve confirmed the new date, we can get back to reviewing the CFPs from talented technologists who are waiting to hear from us. We’ll be confirming and announcing speakers for CONNECT Digital and the new CONNECT SF date over the next month.
FOR CONNECT VOLUNTEERS
Q: I applied to volunteer, what happens next?
A: Now that we’ve confirmed the new date, we can get back to reviewing the volunteer applications from dedicated WWCode community members. We’ll be confirming volunteers for CONNECT Digital and the new CONNECT SF date over the next few months.
FOR CONNECT SPONSORS & DONORS
Q: What about sponsors who have already committed to CONNECT SF?
A: We have reached out to all confirmed sponsors. So far, everyone has communicated support and we look forward to seeing them at the new date in October. Already confirmed sponsors will also receive a bonus benefit to participate in CONNECT Digital.
Q: How can people support Women Who Code during this time?
A: CONNECT is our largest fundraising event of the year and helps to ensure we can provide free resources to our 200,000 members around the world. We truly appreciate the support of our donors, sponsors, members, and volunteers that enable us to deliver programming to our community and drive change in the tech industry.
