CEO of World’s Largest Women in Tech Organization Named Executive in Residence

Alaina Percival, CEO and Co-Founder of Women Who Code, to Teach Course Starting in Spring 2022 Semester
ATLANTA – JANUARY 27TH, 2022 —Women Who Code (WWCode), a global nonprofit that works to support the success of women in the technology industry, is proud to announce that our CEO and Co-Founder Alaina Percival has been named Executive in Residence at Georgia State University. Her course entitled WomenLead in Technology will begin during the spring 2022 semester and will cover topics in diversity, career leadership, and the importance of women leaders in the industry.
WomenLead in Technology will explore the factors that have led to women, and particularly women of color, being significantly underrepresented in technology fields despite the increasing demand for these jobs, and the evidence demonstrating the benefits that companies with a diversified workforce enjoy. Using themes of self-efficacy, analysis of economic trends, and leadership development, students will be equipped with tools to help them become better leaders in their tech careers and communities.

As CEO of Women Who Code, Alaina Percival has grown the organization from a small community group in San Francisco to the world’s largest and most active organization dedicated to inspiring women to excel in technology, with a membership of over 290,000 located in 134 countries. Alaina is also a CodePath Advisor, a Venture Partner at Valor Ventures, and sits on the Board at the nonprofit ATLFamilyMeal. She graduated from Georgia State University with an MBA in 2008.
